Badgers overcome slow start in 78-56 victory over Lehigh

The Wisconsin Badgers overcame a slow start and a halftime deficit to pull away for a 78-56 victory over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks.

Wisconsin struggled to hit shots in the first half, missing eight in a row at one point from inside the arc. Lehigh had a 32-31 lead at halftime and led for more than 11 minutes in the half.

But in the second half, Wisconsin stormed back and took the lead, pulling away in the later part of the second half. Connor Essegian took control, hitting back to back threes to start an 11-0 run and give Wisconsin some momentum that they were able to carry through the rest of the game.

Lehigh was able to get it within six points at 55-49 with 7:40 to go and the Badgers pulled away from there, going on a 19-2 run. Wisconsin hit 10 shots in a row from the field and 11 of 12 and ended up with a 78-56 victory.

Steven Crowl had 15 points to lead the way for Wisconsin. Jordan Davis added 14 points while Connor Essegian and Tyler Wahl both had 13 points.

Next up for Wisconsin is Grambling State at the Kohl Center on December 23rd.
