He's baaaack! After a few weeks of rumors about a transfer to Michigan, Badgers star running back Braelon Allen has announced he will not enter the transfer portal and will indeed stay with the Wisconsin Badgers.
Allen made the announcement Tuesday on Twitter.
The sophomore running back has played in 23 career games for the Badgers and has racked up 2,394 career rushing yards and 22 touchdowns over his two seasons, averaging 104 YPG.
Wisconsin is known for their rushing attack and Allen is the latest in a long line of elite running backs to wear a Badgers uniform. There was weeks of speculation about a potential Allen exit to the transfer portal after head coach Paul Chryst was fired on October 2nd. Allen seemed to calm the rumors when he went on Drew & KB and said that as long as Jim Leonhard is here, he'll be here. A fresh round of speculation came about this past week when Wisconsin hired Luke Fickell to be head coach instead of Leonhard.
Allen's fellow running back Isaac Guerendo did announce he would be entering the transfer portal today, however.
But Allen will be staying at Wisconsin for another year. He has two more years of eligibility left although with the track he's on, he could be headed to the NFL after the 2023 season. But for now, Braelon Allen is a Wisconsin Badger.
