Former Wisconsin Badgers guard and 2021-22 Big Ten Player of the Year Johnny Davis has been selected 10th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards.
Davis had an incredible sophomore campaign with the Badgers, scoring 19.7 PPG, with 8.2 RPG, and shooting 30.6% from beyond the arc. The Badgers were projected to finish 10th in the Big Ten at the start of the year and ended up clinching a share of the Big Ten title. The development and success of Johnny Davis played a large part in the Badgers beating everyone's expectations.
Davis is the 3rd Badgers player to be selected in the Top 10 of the NBA Draft and the first since Frank Kaminsky went 9th overall in 2015.
Last season, the Washington Wizards went 35-47. Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis are the two big name players on that roster and they get to add a player in Johnny Davis to their roster mix that should help fill what the Wizards need on their roster in order to get back into the postseason.
Congratulations to Johnny Davis!
