Things started out slow offensively for both these teams, but pace picked up and in the end, the Wisconsin Badgers pulled out a 70-62 victory over the Michigan State Spartans.
Coming off his worst scoring performance of the season, scoring just four points against Penn State, Johnny Davis was back to his usual production on Tuesday night. Davis had 25 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Davis was 8 of 11 on field goals and 2 of 4 from 3 point range.
This was a big game for the Badgers, who are in the race for the top of the Big Ten standings and needed to push Michigan State back. The Spartans beat the Badgers a few weeks ago when they came to Madison, and Wisconsin being able to beat the Spartans in East Lansing is a huge win.
Chucky Hepburn and Tyler Wahl both added 11 points, Brad Davison had 8 points, and Steven Crowl had 6.
Marcus Bingham was the top scorer for the Spartans with 15 points, followed by Malik Hall who had 12.
The Badgers led this game from wire to wire, never allowing Michigan State to take a lead and take some control. Things got a little close in the second half, but Wisconsin was able to pull away and cruise to an eight point victory.
Next up for Wisconsin is the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday, February 12th with tip-off scheduled for 1 PM.
