The Big Ten, and the Wisconsin Badgers, are back playing football this fall, with a schedule releasing in the next few days. Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez talked about the return-to-play process for the Big Ten and Wisconsin.
Alvarez, a member of the Big Ten's return-to-play committee, says that there are answers to questions they didn't have over a month ago when universities postponed football to the spring. Rapid, affordable testing and procedures built in to help mitigate risk factors from COVID-19, such as myocarditis, helped turn the vote to a unanimous one to play football in the fall.
As part of the decision, fans will not be allowed at Big Ten games. Parents may be accommodated.
