If you have somehow avoided all forms of media during the pandemic then you might have missed the new term "Karen" hitting the internet. According to www.dictionary.com, "Karen" is a mocking slang term for an entitled, obnoxious, middle-aged white woman. Especially as featured in memes, Karen is generally stereotyped as having a blonde bob haircut, asking to speak to retail and restaurant managers to voice complaints or make demands, and being a nagging, often divorced mother from Generation X. Now there have been multiple videos of "Karen's" freaking out but over the weekend the internet took it up a notch. The first video is of a Karen who was pulled over by a police officer and then told to sign a form saying she will get something fixed on her car which was in violation. She ended up fighting the officer saying she is not under arrest which led him to bringing out the taser.
Then there was this shorter video of a "Karen" trying to use the force and screaming for a cop to stay away from her. He did end up keeping his distance, but the taser did not.
Things have certainly gotten out of hands in regards to Karens. Do you remember when the world was simple and we could all just laugh at "Kidz Bop Karen" telling us to calm down? Those were the good days.
