MLB is floating the idea of a new playoff format. Basically they would add two more teams from each league and give the top overall seeds a bye. The next three best teams would then get to choose which of the next 3 wild card teams they want to face in a best of three series before moving on to the next round. We talked about it on Monday's Mike Heller Show with Mike Heller and Jon Arias. Overall Heller says he likes the idea although having teams pick their opponents opens a new can of worms never explored in MLB history.
