With onside kick recovery becoming almost impossible in the NFL, there's a proposal to change the rule and basically give a team a 4th and 15 for a chance to retain possession after a touchdown. The odds of successfully recovering an onside kick are around 10%, and the odds of getting a first down on a 4th and 15 are just a little more at about 13%. But the excitement of watching your star quarterback try to get 15 yards, is much more than you get on an onside kick.
