The Brewers open their second to last series today in Cincinnati against the Reds as they try to close in on a playoff spot. Former Brewer Paul Wagner joined Heller and Dolphin earlier this morning for his Tuesday hit. They asked Paul if the Brewers being so successful despite having a negative run differential is more of a testament to the managing of Craig Counsell or if it’s due more to clutch and timely hitting. They also asked him how important is to have veterans on the roster that have produced in high pressure situations even if they’re not the same player they were In their prime. Finally, they asked Wags if teams like the Reds that are out of contention have extra motivation to knock a division rival out of the playoffs or is that line of thinking more of a media driven narrative.
