Reactions to the Packers' first-round trade-up for Jordan Love

One of the more stunning events in Green Bay Packers NFL Draft history occurred Thursday night as the franchise traded up to take quarterback Jordan Love of Utah State, the now-heir apparent to Aaron Rodgers.

Love, who had an excellent 2018 but struggled under a brand-new coaching staff and system in 2019, was projected as a late first-rounder, so it wasn't that the Packers reached for him. It's that the Packers had needs and already had a future Hall of Fame quarterback in the fold.

Reaction was immediate on social media. Packers fans were split about the selection, with some calling for the pick even before the Draft, while others were apocalyptic that Green Bay not only drafted a position of no perceived immediate need, but traded up to do so.

National media instantly reacted to the news that the Packers had added a quarterback in the first round. Here's a roundup of some of the Thursday night takes on the move.
