Against Minnesota, the Green Bay Packers will have to establish the run and get more production out of Aaron Jones this week than they did last week to have success offensively.
Maggie Loney of Cheesehead TV breaks down the match-up, concluding the run game will be very important this Sunday:
This is a great test for the run game going up against a stout Vikings front seven. Head Coach Matt LaFleur couldn’t generate a ton of action on the ground against the Bears last week, and this week’s matchup is just as intense. Anthony Barr, Danielle Hunter, Linval Joseph, and Everson Griffen all can generate a ton of pressure both on the quarterback and the running backs. Aaron Jones wasn’t able to play Week 2 of last season due to a suspension, so this will be his time to shine as the team’s premier back. Against the Bears, Jones did lead all running backs with 39 yards on the night, but that’s not going to cut it for an entire season.
