Defense, J.K. Scott power Packers to Week 1 win over Bears 10-3

Green Bay only needed one touchdown, a pass to Jimmy Graham, to take down the reigning NFC North champions on the opening night of the 2019 NFL season. The Packers beat the Chicago Bears 10-3 on Thursday night.

A late Adrian Amos interception turned away the Bears' last best scoring chance late in the fourth quarter, as the former Chicago safety helped punctuate a solid effort by the Packers' defense in keeping the Bears out of the end zone.

Aaron Rodgers went 18-for-30 for 203 yards and the touchdown to Graham, but the offense looked out of sync at times, and Rodgers was sacked six times in the win.

Green Bay got five sacks of their own, including two by Preston Smith and one from Za'Darius Smith, the two big free agent signings at the edge rusher position.

Punter J.K. Scott had nine punts in the game for a 47.6 yard average, placing five of them inside the 20.

The Packers will host Minnesota a week from Sunday in Week 2.
