Practice Squad Candidates: Who To Watch For Tonight

When all is said and done after tonight's preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Packers will be making several roster moves. Here are the top candidates to join the practice squad in Green Bay.

Maggie Loney of Cheesehead TV offers a list of players that should be in consideration for a spot on the practice squad.

  • Chandon Sullivan (CB) - If the Packers were to keep seven cornerbacks on the roster, Sullivan would likely be the seventh player.
  • Malcolm Johnson (FB) - He’s a solid depth player at a position the Packers like, so that might be his path to the practice squad.
  • Cole Madison (OL) - He’s taken snaps at center, guard, and tackle, and he profiles the type of player the Packers typically like to keep in their locker room and develop long term.
  • James Looney (DL) - Looney was a seventh-round pick in the 2018 Draft. He was added to the active roster in November and played in three games for Green Bay to close out the season.
  • Randy Ramsey (LB) - The 6-3 linebacker had 106 total tackles for the Arkansas Razorbacks during his collegiate career with 19.5 tackles for a loss and 8.5 sacks.
  • Tra Carson (RB) - Carson has seen a lot of action this preseason with Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams both sitting out.
  • Adam Pankey/Yosh Nijman/Gerhard de Beer (OL) - de Beer is listed as the backup right tackle behind Bryan Bulaga, with both Nijman and Pankey listed as third string players.
