An injury setback hasn't deterred Jake Kumerow in his quest to make the Green Bay Packers, at one of the most competitive position groups this camp: wide receiver.
Zachary Jacobson writes at Cheesehead TV that because the position has a numbers problem and Kumerow, already 27, has just five games of NFL experience, an injury setback could be devastating to his chances of making the roster:
After a strong showing at last week's annual Family Night practice, it seemed as if Kumerow was heading towards a possible lock for the final roster. Unfortunately, a pinky injury suffered during Monday's joint practice with the Houston Texans could be mildly concerning. There's more than enough competition at the bottom of the Packers' depth chart, with names such as Teo Redding, Darrius Shepherd and Jawill Davis all making periodic positive plays in practice.
