Raven Greene could fill important roles on defense, special teams

Second-year safety Raven Greene, who was an undrafted rookie in 2018, has begun to find his role with the Packers. He'll be counted upon to help fill the depth as a hybrid safety/linebacker and as a special teams ace in 2019.

Zachary Jacobson of Cheesehead TV looks at the number of ways that Greene could find his way onto the field (and on to the roster) during training camp, and what it'll take for him to get there. That includes competing for reps with 2017 second-round pick Josh Jones.

Greene, an undrafted free agent acquired by the Packers after last year's draft, played just 43 total snaps on defense in his rookie season. But it was the gradual improvements he made throughout the year -- even in limited reps -- that paved the way to earning more in year two... But for Greene to continue earning snaps over Jones -- and keep it that way throughout the remainder of the summer -- he'll have to believe that he has the ability to do so.
