Green Bay Packers release Mike Daniels

Multiple reports indicated that the Green Bay Packers have released defensive lineman Mike Daniels.

Daniels, 30, made the Pro Bowl in 2017, but only played in 10 games in 2018.

In seven seasons with the Packers, Daniels recorded 29 sacks.

On Monday, the Packers announced that they had signed defensive lineman Dean Lowry to a contract extension.

Daniels was originally a fourth-round NFL Draft pick by the Packers out of Iowa in 2012.

This offseason, Green Bay spent heavily on the defense, adding edge rushers Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith as well as drafting Rashan Gary in the first round. Defensive line is considered one of the Packers' deepest positions.
