With the 21st pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers traded up from #30 to select Maryland safety Darnell Savage.
Green Bay gave up the #30 pick and both of their fourth-rounders (#114 and #118) in the deal.
Savage was the first defensive back selected in the 2019 NFL Draft.
NFL.com had this to say about Savage in their draft previews:
"His sticky cover skills and ability to close on throws from all areas of the field are valuable commodities that should not be undervalued."
Savage is seen as somewhat undersized at safety.
