Three new #1 teams highlight this week's WVCA Coaches Poll, which is dominated by teams primarily from southern Wisconsin.
In Division 1, Arrowhead took over the top spot from Brookfield Central as the teams traded places in the standings. Burlington, Oconomowoc, and Watertown round out the top five, with River Falls coming in at #7 as the highest-rated team from northern Wisconsin in D1. Sun Prairie (Big 8, #8) and Waunakee (Badger North, #9) pace their respective conferences, and Hamilton takes up the tenth spot in this week's poll. All five honorable mention D1 teams are from southeastern Wisconsin, including the only undefeated team in this week's rankings, Pewaukee (8-0).
Southern Wisconsin owns the Division 2 poll, and a change at the top has Lakeside Lutheran in the top spot ahead of Lake Country Lutheran. Edgewood, last week's #1, drops to third, followed by Platteville and Lake Mills. Lake Mills and Lakeside Lutheran will face each other after next week's poll on Tuesday in a top-five showdown in Capitol North play. Rock Valley squads East Troy and McFarland are in the top ten this week, while Badger North members Mount Horeb and Sauk Prairie are in the honorable mention section.
Waterloo jumped back into the top spot in Division 3 ahead of Howards Grove, with Grantsburg, Aquinas, and Stratford finishing up the top five. At the bottom of the poll, Cuba City jumps to #8, ahead of Fall Creek and Colfax, while undefeated River Ridge falls out of the top ten to honorable mention.
Division 3's top three teams stayed the same this week, led by Catholic Central, Columbus Catholic, and McDonell. Undefeated Clear Lake moved up to #6.
