Boston used outstanding defense to frustrate Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in a 112-90 Celtics victory at Fiserv Forum on Sunday.
Al Horford, who primarily defended Antetokounmpo in the game, had 20 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, and three assists. Kyrie Irving paced Boston with 26 points and 11 assists.
Antetokounmpo scored 22 points to lead the Bucks, with eight rebounds. Khris Middleton scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, but the only other Milwaukee Bucks player in double figures was Nikola Mirotic off the bench with 13 points.
Boston takes over home-court advantage in the series and leads 1-0. Game 2 will tip off Tuesday at 7 p.m. Game 3 is Friday at 7 p.m. in Boston, and Game 4 is in Boston on May 6 at 6 p.m.
