With the regular season now concluded, it appears as though most of the support for the NBA's Most Valuable Player Award is for Giannis Antetokounmpo over James Harden.
That's based on the work of @TheNBACentral, which has tracked a quarter of the balloting for the official award to be announced between now and the first day of summer. Their database creators have been working hard, sifting through social media and podcasts to figure out how the NBA MVP voting will shake out. They've already collected first- and second-place votes from 23 of the 100 voters for the award as of 1:45 p.m. Friday, April 12.
Some voters have been open about their selection process, such as ESPN's Zach Lowe. Others are more secretive, preferring to not release their picks at all.
Giannis won the NBA's Most Improved Player award two season ago, and is considered to be a prime contender for NBA Defensive Player of the Year as well.
