The Milwaukee Brewers had chance after chance to score runs on Monday night, but couldn't seem to get the big hit. That was until Christian Yelich stepped to the plate in the 9th inning with the game tied at two. Yelich hit a single into right field to score Blake Perkins from second base and give Milwaukee the 3-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds in walk-off fashion.
Colin Rea pitched six strong innings and allowed just two runs.
The bullpen was dynamite for the Brewers again, tossing three scoreless innings.
Plus, Sal Frelick hit a solo home run, his first of his career.
Milwaukee is 56-45. They extend their lead over the Reds to 1.5 games in the NL Central.
The second game of the series will be Tuesday night at 7:10pm.
