Albies Late Home Run Lifts Braves Past Brewers 4-2

It seems you can only hold down the Atlanta Braves lineup for so long. The Milwaukee Brewers did that into the eighth inning on Sunday afternoon, until Ozzie Albies stepped to the plate. With the Brewers leading 2-1, Albies hit a three-run home run off Brewers reliever Elvis Peguero and gave Atlanta a 4-2 lead. That would be the final score as the Braves took the series in Milwaukee.

Julio Teheran bounced back with a great performance on the mound for the Brewers. He pitched six innings and allowed just one run.

After the Braves scored first in the top of the second inning, Brice Turang hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game at one. It was the fourth of the season for Turang.

In the fourth inning, Owen Miller drove in Sal Frelick with a sacrifice fly to give Milwaukee a 2-1 lead.

As mentioned, Albies gave Atlanta the lead in the eighth inning. It was the first run the Brewers bullpen had allowed since July 8th. They had gone nine consecutive games without allowing a run.

Atlanta beat Milwaukee 4-2 and took the series.

The Brewers are 55-45. They will start a pivotal three-game series against the second place Cincinnati Reds on Monday night at 7:10pm. After the game, listen to the Baseball Postgame Show with Tim Allen on 97.3 The Game and the iHeart Radio App.
