Peralta Struggles in Brewers 6-4 Loss to Braves

The Atlanta Braves are the best team in baseball and they showed why on Friday night in Milwaukee. They scored six runs against Freddy Peralta over the first five innings of the game to earn the 6-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Brewers jumped out to a quick lead in the first inning. Back to back doubles by Christian Yelich and William Contreras put the first run on the board. Jesse Winker singled later in the inning to score Contreras and the Brewers led 2-0. However, that lead was quickly erased.

In the top of the second inning, the Braves scored three runs, highlighted by a two-run home run from Orlando Arcia. The Braves led 3-2 in the second inning.

Austin Riley hit a two-run home run in the third inning to extend the Braves lead to 5-2. Another run in the fifth inning gave the Braves a 6-2 lead. All of the runs were scored against Peralta.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Willy Adames hit a two-run home run to cut the deficit to 6-4 for the Brewers. It was the 17th of the season for Adames.

The Brewers bullpen kept the Braves scoreless over the final four innings, but the Brewers couldn't muster up any more offense. The Braves won 6-4.

The Brewers are 54-44. They will host the Braves for the second game of the series on Saturday evening at 6:15pm at American Family Field. After the game, listen to the Baseball Postgame Show on 97.3 The Game in Milwaukee and the iHeart Radio App.
