Brewers Sweep Reds With 4-3 Win

Time to bring out the brooms. The Milwaukee Brewers completed the sweep of the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday afternoon with a 4-3 win.

Different from the first two games of the series, the Brewers fell behind to the Reds on Sunday. The Reds scored a run in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead.

However, the Brewers immediately answered back. Christian Yelich hit his 13th home run of the season to tie the game in the top of the third inning.

The Reds struck back in the bottom of the third inning when Jake Fraley hit a two-run home run. The Reds led 3-1.

Milwaukee got a run back in the fifth inning when Yelich brought in Andruw Monasterio with a single and the score was 3-2.

That score held until the eighth inning when the Brewers completed the comeback. With runners at first and third with nobody out, Owen Miller hit a sacrifice fly to score Willy Adames and tie the game at three. Later in the inning, Monasterio hit an RBI-single to score Tyrone Taylor (running for Jesse Winker) and give the Brewers a 4-3 lead.

Devin Williams earned the save in the ninth inning and Milwaukee secured the sweep of the Reds with a 4-3 win.

Milwaukee is 52-42. They have a two-game lead in the NL Central over the Reds after the sweep. Milwaukee has the day off on Monday before starting a three-game series in Philadelphia on Tuesday night.
