Brewers Beat Reds 1-0 To Open Second Half

The second half of the season started exactly how the first half of the season ended for the Milwaukee Brewers. A shutout of the Cincinnati Reds 1-0.

Corbin Burnes was filthy on Friday night. He struck out thirteen batters in six innings of work. That is a season high for strikeouts for Burnes.

After Burnes, the bullpen was perfect again. Elvis Peguero, Joel Payamps, and Devin Williams set the entire Reds lineup down in order in the final three innings.

The lone run came when Victor Caratini knocked in a run in the seventh inning with an RBI-single.

The Brewers are 50-42. They are back to being tied for first place with the Reds.

The second game of the series will be on Saturday night at 6:10pm. After the game, listen to the Baseball Postgame Show with Tim Allen on 97.3 The Game in Milwaukee and the iHeart Radio App.
