Brewers Take Series Over Reds With 1-0 Win

The pitching was the story on Sunday afternoon as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 1-0 to earn a series win heading into the All-Star break.

Jesse Winker gave the Brewers a 1-0 lead in the first inning with a single that brought home Christian Yelich. The Brewers had other chances to score during the game, but never cashed in. Good news? They didn't need to.

Wade Miley pitched six shutout innings in one of his best starts of the season. Out of the bullpen, Elvis Peguero, Joel Payamps, and Devin Williams slammed the door on the Cincinnati Reds. Milwaukee won 1-0.

The Brewers finish the "first half" with a record of 49-42. They sit one game behind the Cincinnati Reds for first place in the NL Central.

The All-Star Game is on Tuesday. Devin Williams and Corbin Burnes will represent Milwaukee.

The team is off until Friday night when they fire up a three-game series in Cincinnati.
