Brewers Take Series in Cleveland

Despite some ups and downs, the Milwaukee Brewers won the series against the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend.

Friday night was an offensive explosion for the Brewers. They won 7-1 and scored five runs in the sixth inning. Willy Adames had an enormous night with two home runs and five runs batted in. Wade Miley was magnificent on the mound again for Milwaukee. He pitched six innings and didn't allow a run on three hits. He was removed due to cramps with just 67 pitches thrown.

On Saturday afternoon, the Guardians got the best of the Brewers with a comeback win. Milwaukee struck first with two runs in the first three innings. They led 2-0 heading into the fourth inning. However, the Guardians scored one in the fourth inning to cut the deficit to 2-1. Then, Cleveland took the lead in the sixth inning after starter Freddy Peralta allowed the first two batters to reach in the inning. Cleveland won 4-2.

On Sunday, it was nearly the same script. Milwaukee jumped out to a 4-1 lead, including three runs in the third inning. But, just like Saturday, Cleveland stormed back to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game remained tied into the tenth inning. In the top of the tenth inning, Owen Miller hit an RBI-double off the top of the wall to score Joey Wiemer and give Milwaukee a 5-4 lead. Elvis Peguero slammed the door for the Brewers in the bottom of the tenth inning and Milwaukee won 5-4 to take the series.
