Corbin Burnes Roughed Up in 9-1 Loss to Arizona

It was bad news from the jump for the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night. The Arizona Diamondbacks jumped all over Brewers starter Corbin Burnes in the first inning, scoring six runs.

The first five batters reached base for Arizona and the Diamondbacks led 3-0 before an out was recorded. After a run was scored on a ground out, Alek Thomas hit a two-run home run to extend the lead to 6-0 for Arizona.

The Brewers offense scratched a run across in the third inning, but that was it. Arizona tacked on a few more runs before things came to a conclusion. Arizona won 9-1.

The Brewers are 37-35. They are now in second place in the National League Central because the Cincinnati Reds won their ninth game in a row on Monday night, and took sole possession of first place.

Milwaukee will play the second game of the series against Arizona at 7:10pm on Tuesday night at American Family Field. After the game, listen to the Baseball Postgame Show with Tim Allen presented by Hitters Baseball Academy on 97.3 The Game in Milwaukee and the iHeart Radio App.
