Wiemer and Burnes Power Brewers to 10-2 Win Over Orioles

The Milwaukee Brewers seem to have their mojo back. They scored early and often on Wednesday night in their 10-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Willy Adames returned to the lineup for the first time since getting hit in the head by a foul ball just 12 days ago and hit a solo home run in his first at-bat in the first inning. Milwaukee led 1-0.

In the third inning, Joey Wiemer stayed hot with a two-run home run to extend the lead to 3-0 for Milwaukee. Wiemer hit an RBI single in the next inning to give Milwaukee a 4-0 lead.

Jon Singleton and Brian Anderson both knocked in a run to extend Milwaukee's lead to 6-0 in the sixth inning.

Wiemer continued his dominance in the seventh inning. After Andruw Montasterio doubled to bring home William Contreras and Victor Caratini brought home Brian Anderson on a sacrifice fly, Wiemer stepped to the plate. He hit a two-run home run, his second of the game. Milwaukee led 10-0.

Joey Wiemer finished the night 4 for 4 with two home runs and five RBI.

Meanwhile on the mound, Corbin Burnes had one of his best outings of the season. He threw eight innings and didn't allow a run on just two hits. He struck out nine batters and didn't walk anyone. A dominant performance from the former Cy Young Award winner.

Milwaukee won 10-2. They have won five out of their last six games and are 34-28 on the season.

The Brewers will go for the series sweep of the Orioles on Thursday afternoon at 1:10pm.
