Brewers Avoid Sweep With 6-4 Win Over Rays

The Milwaukee Brewers became just the third team this season to beat the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field on Sunday afternoon. Milwaukee beat the Rays 6-4 behind three home runs.

Milwaukee scored first when Willy Adames hit a solo home run in the top of the second inning to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead.

In the top of the fourth inning, Rowdy Tellez hit his 11th home run of the season. It was a two-run shot that gave Milwaukee a 3-0 lead. However, in the bottom of the fourth inning, Josh Lowe hit a three-run home run off Freddy Peralta to tie the game at three.

But the Brewers struck right back in the next half inning. William Contreras hit a two-run home run to regain the lead at 5-3. Brian Anderson later drove in Christian Yelich with an RBI single to extend the Brewers lead to 6-3.

Other than allowing a run in the bottom of the eighth inning, Milwaukee’s bullpen did their job. Including getting a four-out save from Devin Williams. Milwaukee won 6-4.

Milwaukee is 25-21. They open up a homestand with a series against the Houston Astros which starts on Monday night at 6:40pm. Listen to the Baseball Postgame Show with Tim Allen after the game on 97.3 The Game in Milwaukee and the iHeart Radio App.
