Clutch 8th Inning Gives Rockies 3-2 Win Over Brewers

The Colorado Rockies did something on Tuesday night that has been a rare occurrence so far this season. Score a run against Milwaukee Brewers reliever Peter Strzelecki. In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Rockies scored the game-winning run, giving them the 3-2 win over the Brewers.

The Rockies jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Tuesday night after a pair of solo home runs in the early innings. Brewers starter Freddy Peralta was able to limit the damage with ten strikeouts through six innings, and gave the Brewers a chance for a comeback.

In the seventh inning, the Brewers scored two runs. Rowdy Tellez hit an RBI double and William Contreras hit an RBI ground out. The game was tied at two.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Rockies scored when Elias Diaz hit a single to drive in Yonathan Daza. That gave the Rockies a 3-2 lead. The Brewers went down quietly in the ninth inning, and Milwaukee suffered their second consecutive loss.

The Brewers are 18-11. They will play the second game of the series at Coors Field on Wednesday night at 7:40pm. Tim Allen will host the Baseball Postgame Show presented by Hitters Baseball Academy immediately after the game on 97.3 The Game in Milwaukee and the iHeart Radio App. If you missed Tuesday night's show, listen below.
