Brewers Snap Winning Streak With 5-3 Loss to Red Sox

The Milwaukee Brewers four-game winning streak was snapped on Friday night in a 5-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox.

Boston scored first in the top of the third inning when Alex Verdugo hit a two-run home run to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead.

The Brewers struck back in the bottom of the third when Christian Yelich hit an RBI-single to bring home Owen Miller. That cut the Brewers deficit to 2-1.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Brewers took the lead. They scored two runs, including a solo home run from Rowdy Tellez. It was the sixth of the season for Tellez. The Brewers led 3-2 after four innings.

Brewers starter Freddy Peralta settled in nicely, but walked two batters with two outs in the sixth inning. Hoby Milner entered the game and allowed them both to score, giving Boston a 4-3 lead.

Boston added to that lead with a run in the seventh inning and the Red Sox bullpen kept the Brewers off the board the rest of the way. Boston beat Milwaukee 5-3.

The Brewers are 14-6. They will host Boston for the second game of the weekend series at 6:10pm on Saturday night. Listen to The Baseball Postgame Show with Tim Allen presented by Hitters Baseball Academy after the game.
