Brewers Escape With 4-3 Win Over Padres in 10 Innings

The Milwaukee Brewers escaped with a 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres in ten innings on Thursday night. 

Milwaukee took a quick 2-0 lead over the Padres when Rowdy Tellez hit a two-run home run in the first inning.

The Padres struck back with a run in the bottom of the first inning when Manny Machado hit his first long ball of the season. The Brewers led 2-1 after one inning.

The Brewers extended their lead to 3-1 when Mike Brosseau hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. It was the second of the season for Brosseau.

The score was steady until the bottom of the eighth inning when Padres outfielder Trent Grisham hit a game-tying two-run home run off of Matt Bush. The game was tied at three heading into the ninth inning.

Former Brewers pitcher Josh Hader shut down Milwaukee's bats in the ninth inning, and Devin Williams did the same to the Padres bats.

In the tenth inning, Tellez drove in Christian Yelich to give Milwaukee a 4-3 lead. Joel Payamps pitched a scoreless bottom of the tenth inning and the Brewers secured the 4-3 victory.
