Big 7th Inning Powers Brewers Past D-Backs 7-1

The Milwaukee Brewers entered the seventh inning on Tuesday night being no-hit through six innings. They hadn't scored in 16 straight innings. But that is when the flood gates opened. The Brewers scored five runs in the seventh inning and that powered Milwaukee to a 7-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Willy Adames led off the seventh inning with a solo home run. The Brewers proceeded to load the bases with nobody out. Victor Caratini drew a walk to bring home the second run of the inning. Joey Wiemer grounded out to bring Brian Anderson home to extend the lead to 3-0. Mike Brosseau came up with a two-out, two-RBI double to left field to give the Brewers a 5-0 lead. Rowdy Tellez hit a solo home run in the eighth inning and Brosseau hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to put Milwaukee up 7-0.

After being shut out by Brewers ace Corbin Burnes through eight innings, Arizona scratched a run across the plate in the ninth inning, but that was it. Milwaukee won 7-1.

As mentioned, Burnes was back to his Cy Young form on Tuesday night. He pitched eight innings, allowed just three hits, and no runs.

The Brewers are 8-3. They will go for the series win on Wednesday afternoon at 2:40pm in Arizona. After the last pitch, make sure to flip to Tim Allen on the Baseball Postgame Show presented by Hitters Baseball Academy on 97.3 The Game and the iHeart Radio App.
