It seemed the St. Louis Cardinals were on a mission to end the Milwaukee Brewers six-game winning streak on Saturday night. The Cardinals beat Milwaukee 6-0 behind two early home runs.
The Cardinals scored two runs in the first inning via a sacrifice fly and a bloop single.
In the third inning, Nolan Arenado and Jordan Walker hit home runs to extend the Cardinals lead to 6-0. That would be the final score.
Eric Lauer struggled. He allowed six earned runs in just four innings of work.
However, the new-look Brewers bullpen continued to impress. They didn't allow a run over five innings of relief. Gus Varland, Javy Guerra, and Joel Payamps all recorded scoreless outings.
The Brewers are 6-2. They will try to take the series against St. Louis on Sunday at 1:10pm. After every game, listen to "The Baseball Postgame Show" with Tim Allen presented by Hitters Baseball Academy.
