Brewers Earn Series Win With 9-5 Victory Over Cubs

For the first time in nearly a year, the Milwaukee Brewers have won a three-game series without hitting a home run. They managed to do so behind 13 hits on Sunday afternoon, which earned the Brewers a 9-5 win over the Chicago Cubs. The last time they won a three-game series without hitting a home run? Against the Baltimore Orioles in April of last year.

The Brewers scored five runs in the sixth inning to blow the game open, including a two-RBI single from Jesse Winker.

After a rocky start to the game, Brewers starter Eric Lauer settled in nicely. He allowed two runs in the first two innings, but kept the Cubs quiet the rest of his way. He pitched into the sixth inning and struck out six Cubs.

Milwaukee is 2-1 as they return to American Family Field for their home opener on Monday against the New York Mets. First pitch is set for 1:10pm. Listen to "The Baseball Postgame Show" with Tim Allen presented by Hitters Baseball Academy immediately following the game.
