Brewers Win Fourth Straight Game, 10-2 over Reds

The Brewers need every win they can muster and so far in Cincinnati they’ve been getting the job done. Milwaukee won their fourth straight game on Saturday night with a 10-2 victory over the Reds.

The Brewers were down 1-0 early when the Reds put together a few two-out hits against Corbin Burnes in the first inning. However, that would be one of only two runs scored against Burnes on the night.

The Brewers took the lead in fourth inning on a two-run home run by Hunter Renfroe. It was his 26th of the season. Omar Narváez and Tyrone Taylor also knocked in runs that inning to extend the Brewers lead to 4-1.

The very next inning, Renfroe did it again. He hit a two-run home run (his 27th of the season) to extend the Milwaukee lead to 6-1.

In the seventh inning, the Brewers tacked on three more runs. Willy Adames hit an RBI double, Renfroe had an RBI ground out to score Adames, and Luis Urias hit an RBI single to extend the Brewers lead to 9-1.

The Reds scored one more time off Burnes in the seventh inning, but that was all the offense they could muster.

Rowdy Tellez hit his 33rd home run of the season in the ninth inning to make the score 10-2. That was the final, in favor of Milwaukee.

The Brewers gained a game on the Phillies in the wild card standings with the Philadelphia loss to the Braves. They are one and a half games behind the Phillies for the final wild card spot.

Milwaukee will go for the four-game sweep of the Reds on Sunday at 12:40pm.
