The question loomed over the entire Packers offseason, or at least since Davante Adams was traded and Marquez Valdes-Scantling left via free agency.
Can the Packers receivers give 38-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers enough weapons for one last Super Bowl push before the sand runs out on his Hall of Fame hourglass?
Wednesday, receivers Juwonn Winfrey, Amari Rodgers, Allan Lazard, and rookie Romeo Doubs flashed Adams-like deftness and ability to catch the ball in traffic.
Thursday, more of the same. On one play in team drill re-zone, Doubs got the better of second-year cornerback Eric Stokes in the right corner of the end zone for a score.
“I knew it was a man look because he had a heavy eye on me,” Doubs told reporters after practice. “Aaron threw a great ball and I was able to make a great grab and go on to the next play.”
Also, from Packers camp on Thursday, rookie fourth round draft pick Zach Tom played left tackle with the first-team. Tuesday Yosh Nijman was with the first string at the position before moving to the right side with the starters on day two.
Friday, the Packers will again hold practice, but in a departure from years prior, the workout will not be open to the public.
