Brewers Offense Stays Hot in 10-4 Win Over Twins

Rowdy Tellez had been 4 for 19 since the All-Star Break coming into Wednesday afternoon, but he broke out of the slump with a bang in the Brewers 10-4 win over Minnesota. Tellez hit two three-run home runs to outscore the Twins by himself at American Family Field on Wednesday.

Tellez hit his first home run in the bottom of the first inning. It was a three-run home run to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead.

The Twins immediately struck back in the top of the second inning against Corbin Burnes with three runs to tie the game.

Neither team scored until the Brewers broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning. Milwaukee loaded the bases with no outs. Christian Yelich drew a walk to drive in the first run of the inning. Willy Adames hit a sacrifice fly to score Luis Urias from third base to give Milwaukee a 5-3 lead. Then, Rowdy Tellez hit his second three-run home run of the day to give the Brewers an 8-3 lead.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Luis Urias hit his 12th home run of the season with Kolten Wong on base, to extend the Brewers lead to 10-3.

Corbin Burnes exited after six innings. He gave up three earned runs, but struck out 11 Twins and didn’t walk a batter. Another magnificent performance from the reigning Cy Young.

The Twins added a run off of Jake McGee in the 7th inning, but didn’t score the rest of the way. The Brewers won 10-4.

Milwaukee is off on Thursday before heading to Boston for a three-game weekend series against the Red Sox.
