Brewers Beat Twins 7-6 on Walk-Off by Urias

This homestand has been filled with thrillers and Tuesday night was no different. Luis Urias hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Brewers a 7-6 win over the Twins.

Byron Buxton started the scoring in the first inning with a home run on the fourth pitch of the game and the Twins took an early 1-0 lead.

The Brewers answered back in the bottom of the second inning when Hunter Renfroe hit his fourth home run in the last five games. It was a three-run home run to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead. Later in the inning, Christian Yelich hit an RBI double to left-center field to extend the lead to 4-1.

The Twins immediately responded in the top of the third inning, when Jose Miranda hit a two-run double to cut the Brewers lead to 4-3. 

Luis Urias gave the Brewers a two-run lead with his 11th home run of the season in the bottom of third inning. It was 5-3 Brewers after three innings.

Ethan Small, making just his second career MLB start, exited in the fourth inning in favor of Trevor Gott. Small finished with four runs allowed, four walks, and three strikeouts.

Trevor Gott allowed a three-run home run by Gio Urshela in the top of the fifth inning to give the Twins a 6-5 lead.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Brewers tied the game when Kolten Wong hit a solo home run to right field. It was Wong’s seventh home run of the season.

In the eighth inning, the Brewers stranded the bases loaded. The game was tied at six, heading to the ninth inning. 

Josh Hader threw a scoreless top of the ninth inning on just nine pitches. 

The Brewers loaded the bases again in the bottom of the ninth inning and Luis Urias hit a sacrifice fly to score Andrew McCutchen from third base to give the Brewers the 7-6 walk-off win.

The Brewers have won four of five games since the All-Star break, including two walk-off wins by Luis Urias.

The Brewers will finish this homestand with a game against Minnesota at 1:10pm at American Family Field on Wednesday afternoon.
