Brewers Offense Shut Down in 2-0 Loss to Rockies

The Brewers offense had been prolific since the All-Star break, but that came to a screeching halt on Monday night, leading to a 2-0 loss to the Rockies.

The Rockies scored first on a third inning home run from Elias Diaz. The Rockies led 1-0 after three innings.

The Brewers had their first hit in the fourth inning, but didn’t score.

The Rockies added another run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 2-0.

Otherwise, Aaron Ashby was shutting down the Colorado offense. He went a career-high seven innings, allowed two earned runs, walked one batter and struck out nine Rockies. He threw 111 pitches.

On the other side, Kyle Freeland dominated the Brewers lineup. He went seven innings, allowed four hits, no runs, walked one batter, and struck out seven Brewers.

The Brewers loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning, but couldn’t score against the Rockies bullpen en route to a 2-0 loss.

The Brewers will start a quick two-game home series against the Twins on Tuesday night at 7:10pm at American Family Field.
