Brewers Finally Snap Losing Streak With 4-1 Win Over Nationals

Finally! The long losing streak has come to an end and the Milwaukee Brewers have won a game. They did so in powerful fashion on Sunday as the Crew beat the Nationals by a score of 4-1.

The Brewers jumped out to an early lead courtesy of a Willy Adames RBI double to score Tyrone Taylor. Adames added two more in the 5th inning with his 11th home run of the season to make it a 3-0 Brewers lead.

Jason Alexander was making his 3rd MLB start and he continued to throw the ball well and keep it on the ground. He's proven adept at both getting into jams and getting out of them. However, in the 5th inning he ran into some more trouble, and with the bases loaded, allowed a sacrifice fly to Josh Bell to get Washington on the board. That was it for Alexander as Hoby Milner came in to clean up the mess and he did just that, stranding two baserunners to end the 5th.

That was as much of a threat that Washington put together the rest of the way against the Brewers bullpen as Milner, Brad Boxberger, Devin Williams, and Josh Hader combined to throw 4.1 scoreless IP the rest of the way and close out the victory as Josh Hader struck out the side in the 9th for his 19th save of the season.

Andrew McCutchen added an insurance run in the top of the 9th with a booming home run to left-center to make it a 4-1 lead.

This win was the 563rd in Craig Counsell's managerial career, which puts him into a tie with Phil Garner for the most victories as the Brewers manager in franchise history. He needs one more to claim the title for himself.

He'll have a chance to do so on Tuesday as the Brewers head to New York to take on the Mets.
