Even though the Milwaukee Brewers lost 5-2 to the St. Louis Cardinals on the final day of the regular season, the Brewers will still advance to the MLB Playoffs.
Milwaukee will play at the Los Angeles Dodgers in a best-of-three series September 30 through October 2. The Brewers made the playoffs with a record of 29-31, the only losing record in the 16-team MLB postseason field.
Entering play Sunday, Milwaukee was presented with a win-and-in scenario, but despite the loss, the Brewers advanced due to a tiebreaker with the San Francisco Giants, who also finished 29-31, and by one game over the Philadelphia Phillies.
