In the first contest of a two-game series in Detroit, the Milwaukee Brewers were put down soundly by the Tigers 8-3 on Tuesday night.
Milwaukee fell behind 1-0 in the fourth inning before the Tigers opened it up in the fifth, chasing starter Adrian Houser out of the game with a five-spot in the frame.
Detroit tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the seventh inning against the Brewers' bullpen.
Milwaukee scratched across three runs in the top of the ninth, but couldn't complete a rally from an 8-0 deficit.
