Milwaukee used three pitchers who had never pitched at the MLB level prior to Tuesday night during a 12-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers at Miller Park.
Detroit pounded the Brewers for 14 hits, including four hits (and five RBI) by Victor Reyes.
Josh Lindblom went five innings, allowing four runs. Milwaukee brought in rookies Justin Topa and Phil Bickford in relief, who combined to allow six more runs across in three innings.
Milwaukee wrapped up the outing by sending infielder Orlando Arcia to the mound, where he gave up a pair of hits and a pair of runs in his debut at pitcher.
The second and final game of the series is Wednesday at Miller Park.
