Brewers deal David Phelps to Phillies for multiple prospects

According to multiple reports, the Milwaukee Brewers made a trade deadline deal involving one of their relief pitchers, sending David Phelps to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for a package of pitching prospects.

Ken Rosenthal of MLB On Fox first reported the trade, which is the first the Milwaukee Brewers have made this season.

Matt Gelb of The Athletic, the Phillies beat reporter, indicated the number of players going to Milwaukee would be "two or three" low-level pitchers. All of the players involved are to be named later.

Phelps, 33, has struck out 20 batters in 13 innings, and has a career-low WHIP of .692 as a result.
