Pirates sweep Brewers with 5-4 win Sunday

Gregory Polanco hit the go-ahead home run in the eighth inning to push the Pittsburgh Pirates past the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 on Sunday to earn the series sweep.

With the loss, the Brewers have now lost four in a row since reaching .500.

Brewers batters managed seven hits but struck out a dozen times against Pirates pitching, also drawing just two walks.

Milwaukee had its first lead since Wednesday against Minnesota, the last game the Brewers won, when they took a 4-2 lead in the top of the sixth inning. That lead trimmed to 4-3 by the bottom half of the frame, which is what the score remained until Polanco's blast in the eighth.

Next up, the Brewers are at home for 10 games, including four each against the Reds and Pirates, which begins Monday night.
