Twins clobber Brewers 7-1 Thursday night to take series

Jose Berrios struck out nine Brewers in the first six innings while allowing just one hit as the Minnesota Twins defeated Milwaukee 7-1 on Thursday night.

Milwaukee managed just five hits on the night, including a solo home run by Justin Smoak in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 2-1. However, Minnesota added five more runs to close out the game, and took the series two games to one.

The Brewers fell to 11-12, a game under .500, which also dropped them to third place in the NL Central and 4.5 games back of the division-leading Chicago Cubs.

Milwaukee plays three games in Pittsburgh to wrap up a 10-game road trip this weekend.
