Yu Darvish carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning as the Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Chicago Cubs 4-2 on Thursday night at Wrigley Field.
Justin Smoak's solo home run broke up the no-hit bid, but it wasn't enough as the Brewers lost for the fifth time in seven tries.
Craig Counsell said after the game that despite the slump, major changes weren't likely coming for Milwaukee, citing the experience of the team and the relatively small sample size. The Brewers are now 7-10, trailing the Cubs by 6.5 games in the NL Central.
The four-game series continues Friday night at 7:10 p.m. at Wrigley Field.
