Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff, who found out on Friday he would be the Opening Day starter for the Brewers against the Cubs, tossed five strikeouts in five innings of Milwaukee's intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday at Miller Park.
Woodruff gave up four hits and an unearned run with no walks in the stint, his last tune-up before Friday's season-opening contest at Wrigley Field.
Woodruff pitched just 10 innings in four games in Spring Training before the coronavirus shutdown, posting a 1.80 ERA.
The 2019 NL All-Star went 11-3 last year, sporting a 3.62 ERA in 121 and two-thirds innings pitched.
Milwaukee opens the season Friday at Chicago, the start of a 60-game season.
